Community Support
The owners of Curwens believe in demonstrating their support for community groups in the areas in which the offices operate and which benefit its staff, clients and their families. The firm has tried to maintain as much sponsorship and support in kind as possible.
We focus on those causes in and around the areas of our offices – Enfield, Hoddesdon, Royston and over recent years have managed to maintain our sponsorship, Age UK (general) Nightingale Cancer Support Centre (Borough of Enfield) Isobel Hospice (Hertfordshire) Teens Unite (Hoddesdon) and HomeStart (Royston & South Cambs).
We encourage and support our staff to carry out Pro-bono work. Historically we have volunteered at local CAB’s and provided a monthly legal advice surgery at Hertfordshire Women’s center. In September 2019 we partnered with the University of Hertfordshire to launch the Hertfordshire Law Clinic which aims to improve access to justice by providing free legal advice to local community. The clinic offers students a host of great voluntary opportunities with our solicitors mentoring program.
We have also provided free training to local counselors to provide them with an insight of what family law clients are going through.
